You will deliver trauma-informed assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC). While a large portion of your caseload will be children and young people in OOHC, PAHS also supports children, young people and families with a range of trauma-related, developmental, behavioural and mental-health needs.

Working collaboratively with carers, case managers, and stakeholders, you will develop and implement care plans within a multidisciplinary team. The role includes providing consultation and psychoeducation, maintaining high-quality child-safe clinical documentation, and contributing to service development, continuous improvement, and culturally safe, inclusive practice.

Responsibilities:

You'll provide psychological support to children and young people experiencing:

  • Trauma-related needs

  • Mental health issues

  • Disability

  • Behaviours of Concern

  • Family dysfunction or breakdown

  • Multiple and interrelated issues (e.g., involvement with youth justice, homelessness, disengagement from school)

Requirements:

  • Registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and eligible to practise in WA.

  • Experience (or strong interest) in child and adolescent trauma, OOHC, and complex presentations and a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.

  • Skilled in trauma-informed care and able to engage children and families from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or able to obtain).

  • Current WA driver's licence and ability to travel between Midland and Armadale.
