This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred Behaviour Support services to NDIS participants to help them achieve their individual goals and improve quality of life. You will conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments, develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans, and work closely with participants, families, and key stakeholders.
The position is community-based (within a reasonable travel radius from home) and offers a stable full-time role with opportunities for professional development, supervision, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. You will work within NDIS guidelines and restrictive practice regulations, using evidence-based, least restrictive approaches to support participants across daily living, social participation, sensory processing, and mental health needs.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments, including functional behaviour assessments
Develop, implement, and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
Deliver behaviour support services aligned with participants’ NDIS goals and available funding
Support participants to increase independence, community inclusion, and quality of life
Collaborate with participants, families, carers, Support Coordinators, and other professionals
Provide evidence-based, least-restrictive interventions in line with NDIS Behaviour Support Rules
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Sciences, or a related health/disability field
Current registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (or eligibility to register)
Demonstrated experience conducting behaviour assessments and developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support frameworks and restrictive practice legislation
Experience working with people with disability and their families
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
