The Emergency Clinical Nurse Specialist is a senior nurse who ensures the emergency department runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will combine advanced clinical skills with leadership, education, and quality improvement initiatives to support both patients and staff. The role involves hands-on patient care while mentoring and guiding a small, experienced team to maintain high standards and positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced clinical care in the emergency department.
Lead and support a small, experienced nursing team.
Deliver evidence-based education and mentoring to staff.
Manage a clinical portfolio to improve patient care and department standards.
Support Continuous Quality Improvement aligned with National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS).
Build strong relationships with patients, staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance emergency nursing expertise.
Contribute to the strategic and operational objectives of the department, including budget and workflow efficiency.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
Experience in emergency nursing.
Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
Current Working with Vulnerable People check.
Commitment to quality patient care and compliance with NSQHS standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
